THE only thing we’re surprised with is that the survey ratings weren’t lower. The latest SWS survey showed President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s public satisfaction rating at an all-time low of 44 percent.
The huge drop in Noynoy’s satisfaction this year could be attributed to rising prices of petroleum products and other basic commodities, and worsening unemployment.
These were issues that ordinary Filipinos felt in their daily lives, as opposed to the anti-corruption rhetoric constantly being spouted by the administration.
The survey findings would be even worse for Aquino had it been taken in the week of the State of the Nation address.
Post-Sona oil price hikes and the release of ex-president Arroyo will have certainly caused even more Filipinos to be unhappy with this administration.
For sure, Noynoy will blame the SWS for supposed errors in their survey methodology, he will blame the media for reporting the survey, he might even Gloria Arroyo for the survey results. In short, he will blame anyone but himself for something entirely his fault.
