LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Makakalikasang araw sa inyo!
This pertains to the open letter of the Bangon Kagay-an, Inc. published in your paper on June 21, 2012.
Please allow us to give our side on the call for resignation of the undersigned. For his part, Director Alfredo T. Relampagos of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of DENR shall send a separate letter to shed light on the issue presented by the said group.
We believe that the call for my resignation as Regional Executive Director of DENR 10 and that of Regional Director Relampagos is unfair and baseless. We would like to set the record straight based on the following:
1. We are one with Bangon Kagay-an, Inc. in our quest for the protection and conservation of our environment; and
2. The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) is a line bureau of the DENR. The Regional Executive Director of DENR does not supervise day-to-day operations and management of MGB. However, we would like to stress that the MGB 10 is not remiss of its duties and responsibilities in the enforcement of mining laws, rules and regulations.
We open the doors for collaborative efforts with Bangon Kagay-an, Inc. for projects/activities that will further protect and conserve our environment. We appeal to the officers and members of Bangon Kagay-an, Inc. to reconsider their call for the resignation of the undersigned.

You better watch out, You better not cry, Better not pout, I’m telling you why. The people are more vigilant this time. DENR & MGB you better be sincere, Sec. Robredo and Pres. P-noy are serious about this matter.
