Chief Insp. Duphar Chris Cuaresma identified the suspects as 34-year old Michael Fabre, said to be a “job order” worker at the engineering office of the Cagayan de Oro city hall, and 30-year old Maximo Rollorata who used to work as a guard under the Gador Security Agency.

Fabre, also known as “Arnold,” is a resident of Capistrano St. while Rollorata a.k.a. Junjun is from Barangay Macasandig, this city.

None of the two suspects are from Talakag town.

Cuaresma led a police team in arresting the suspects in Barangay Sto. Nino in Talakag town on Monday afternoon.

Cuaresma said the suspects, who used a motorcycle, tried to stop an Asia Brewery truck that was headed from Sto. Nino to the town center.

Joel Palomar, who was driving the truck, said he sped off as soon as the suspects declared a robbery. He then blew the horn and called for help, alerting villagers.

Authorities, including vilage officials led by barangay chairperson Pepe Omreso, subsequently cornered Fabre and Rollorata.

Rollorata, according to the police, yielded a caliber .45 pistol.

The suspects were placed behind bars at the Talakag police station. Charges are being prepared against the suspects at presstime.
